1. Read over the project details and get the Parent Consent Form signed and returned to your teacher by September 17th.
2. Think about areas in the community where you could lend a hand. What issues matter to you? What are your strengths and talents?
3. Research local organizations that assist with the issue you chose. Be sure that the work counts.
4. Contact the organization and ask how you can help out. Be sure to record the name of the person with whom you spoke.
5. Before beginning your work, complete a Service Learning Plan. Turn this into your teacher by October 3rd.
6. Complete your service hours. While there, get your Supervisor Evaluation Form signed and have someone take multiple pictures of YOU doing the work.
7. Review the questions that need to be addressed in your essay as well as the rubric by which you will be graded.
8. Type or write your essay in black ink. Be sure to have it proofread by a few adults.
9. Print out your pictures and attach it to the Photo Page. You can also load and print these onto the page digitally.
10. Attach the project in this order: Supervisor Evaluation, Essay, Photo Page. You may want to review the rubric one more time to be sure you did it correctly. This is due by January 5th.
Now it's time to turn it into your teacher for credit!
